Split brain | | Open ZAP | | | Description | | Duration | | 15 minutes | | Summary | | The outer surface of the brain—the cortex—is divided into two hemispheres, each of which is specialized for different functions. These two hemispheres are connected to each other by a thick layer of axons known as the corpus callosum. Patients who have their corpus callosum severed (usually to curb epilepsy), have hemispheres which may operate independently of each other. This ZAP simulates a split-brain patient’s performance.
